ARCS Projects:

Under the 2014 NYC Building Code, a new "high-rise" building (over 75 ft in height) in any of the five boroughs must include provisions for FDNY in-building radio communications. Older buildings undergoing renovation or changes in occupancy classification may also have to meet this requirement.

This specific in-building radio communications implementation is known as an FDNY Auxiliary Radio Communication System (ARCS). Salient Architects can provide a turnkey solution, or assist contractors and building owners with design, permits and authorization, project management, testing, certification and final FDNY approval. Once a building has ARCS installed, we provide monitoring and service agreements to save our customers time and money. We also manage the required testing and filings for annual certification and five-year recertification to ensure continued compliance with NYC regulations.
